Two numbers wearing the same clothes
A GLP-1 telehealth company advertises a monthly figure. Sometimes that figure is the medication. Sometimes it is only the membership that lets you buy the medication, and the drug is billed on top at several hundred dollars a month. Both are printed the same way, in the same place, in the same size.
On this record, 77 providers state the medication is included and 13 state it is billed separately , while 3 providers do not say. Every median and range on this site is computed from the first group only. Mixing them produces a headline like “from $19 a month” that is true about a consultation and false about a prescription.
That is also why this page does not publish a “cost of Wegovy” figure. What we hold is what telehealth companies charge for access to it, which is a different number from what the drug costs, and printing one as the other would be the exact misdirection this site exists to document.

- Why do some providers advertise $19 or $49 a month?
- Because that figure buys a consultation or a membership, not the drug. 13 of the 93 priced providers on this record bill the medication separately, and a headline of a few tens of dollars sits next to branded drugs that cost several hundred a month on their own. The medians on this site never mix the two groups together.
- Is compounded semaglutide cheaper than Wegovy?
- Substantially, and they are not the same product in regulatory terms. Compounded semaglutide is prepared by a compounding pharmacy and is not an FDA-approved product; the FDA neither approves nor licenses the facilities that prepare it. Across the providers that include medication, compounded semaglutide runs $75 – $399 a month. Branded Wegovy bought through a telehealth membership is a different transaction: the membership is what is advertised, and the drug is billed on top.
- How often are these prices checked?
- Twice a week, Monday and Thursday, by re-reading each provider's own pricing page. A reading is only recorded when it is a single unambiguous monthly figure and it falls within a quarter to four times the previous reading; anything ambiguous is skipped rather than guessed, which is why some providers have gaps in their series.
